Open year-round,we provide most of today’s comforts, but we also offer the unique charm and simplicity of yesteryear.
Staying at Sunny Brook Cottages, particularly during the summer, is a lot like camping. The added benefit, of course, is that you get to sleep in a comfortable bed and enjoy a hot shower in your own bathroom.
You also have the option of building a fire in our outdoor fire pit, where you are free to toast marshmallows, smell the wood smoke, and visit with your neighbors. We have free roasting sticks to give you; just ask at the office. If you prefer a more simple pleasure, you can pull up a chair on our brook-side deck or gently swing in one of our many hammocks. There is the playground for a game of horseshoes or badminton.
We are recycling. There is a blue tub in each cottage for the standard recyclables; please leave your recyclables in that blue bin, and we will take care of them. Trash and all food debris go into the Dumpster with the black lid near our house as usual. Help us help the planet by doing your part. Please don’t put trash into the blue tubs or the recycling Dumpster.
If you click on the pictures below, you will get to see more pictures of the grounds and each cottage, and a description of each cottage.
Each cottage is heated for year-round comfort. Each cottage has its own bathroom with a shower; there are no bathtubs. There is cable TV in each cottage, and all TV’s are compatible with DVD players. Some cottages already have DVD players or VCR’s. We offer free Wifi access; just ask for the current password. We sell firewood at the office; you pay Jane, and Rodney delivers. Please do not bring firewood from out of state or even from southern New Hampshire; the State of New Hampshire has banned the movement of firewood in an effort to stop the spread of pests. Please protect our forests up here by following this rule.
We allow pets in every cottage. There is a fee charged per stay for bringing your pet. The pet rules are pretty basic: clean up after your pet (even in the woods), keep them on a leash whenever outside, keep them crated if you leave them alone in the cottage, bring their own pet food bowls, do not hitch them outside alone, and be responsible for any damages they do. Just a mile north of us is Auntie Cindy at the Albany Pet Care Center (603 447 5614) if you need to schedule doggie daycare or grooming while you’re staying with us.
We allow smoking in all the cottages.
We feature the following amenities:
Cozy cottages with books, magazines, board games, and TV.
wood burning fireplaces – Nothing is more romantic than the real flames and crackle of a fire.
Equipped kitchens in most of the cottages including toasters, coffeemakers, pots, pans, dishes, and utensils. We even provide the dish detergent and dish towels!
Basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, and badminton in our play area for the “big kids.” A playground with swings, climbing wall, and slide for the little kids.
A shaded deck or relaxing hammocks located along the brook.
An outside campfire area with plenty of Adirondack chairs for evening chats and marshmallow toasting!
Individual charcoal BBQ grills at each cottage with tables and chairs for cookin’ time!
